18th century Aubusson CARTOONS - or patterns.... When a client was commissioning work to be done at the Aubusson factory, Aubusson would first do an oil on canvas rendering - to be approved by the client.... Below, please see the patterns for 2 different seats & backs for chairs, and 1 piece of seat for a settee.... They are stretched on stretcher bars..... Sizes range from 21 1/2" H X 23 3/4" W to 35 1/8" H to 51 1/4" W.
