French 18th Century Iron Fire Back TRI238

An exceptional 18th century fire back in beautifully cast iron. Fire backs were luxury items found in chateaux chimneys - to protect the back wall and to radiate heat outwards into the room. This handsome piece is decorated with two wonderful eagles flanking a crowned family crest. Dated 1704. Wonderful incorporated into a back splash or mounted to a garden wall. More photos soon!!
